A friend of mine, [livejournal.com profile] orthaevelve, has been running an otherkin meetup at a local pagan store here in Northern Virginia. For the last few months, I've been attending it. It's been a mixed bag, some nights I've really enjoyed the group that has shown up, other nights I could really do without some people being there. Overall, it's been a positive experience, though.

At last night's meeting, there was a group of students from a college down in Richmond. They're studying subcultures for a communications class presentation, and somehow they'd found their way to the otherkin subculture. I have to say, they were among the most respectful outsiders I've ever seen asking questions of a group of otherkin, and they'd really done their homework in advance.

During the course of the evening, one of them started asking about a device that she'd heard of being involved with some otherkin awakenings. A few questions revealed that she was talking about the Matrix, and had read about it in Eyovah's awakening story. But she hadn't stopped there. She said she became a little obsessed with finding out more about it, and had kept searching online until she found a picture of it. Which she found. On my website.

And she just happens to show up at a meeting that I happen to attend, asking about it.

Seems to me like someone decided I needed a reminder to keep active on the Matrix Work... ain't synchronicity grand?

It is a beautiful day, all is right with the world, and watch out for
high-velocity incoming synchronicities. ;-)

I had the most interesting thing happen tonight. Dusk and I went out for dinner at the mall, and I persuaded him to come up to the movie theater and see if anything good was playing. We were looking and trying to decide if we wanted to see anything, when this guy comes up to us and asks us if we want to go see a FREE SCREENING of the new Zorro movie! I'd been wanting to see this movie while it was in the theaters, but I never expected to get to see it for free! All we ended up spending was a little extra on parking; and $1.50 between two people to see a free big-screen movie isn't exactly a bad deal. :) We got there at the PERFECT time too, it was just about to start when we went in. I don't know who that guy was or why he thought to offer us the free tickets, or why they were even giving out free tickets in the first place, but I certainly owe thanks to someone tonight.
