For anyone who was a fan of The Relic Hound on Etsy, the owner has moved to a new shop, Cynanthropy Crafts:

Cynanthropy Crafts is a small online shop providing a select number of craft pieces made with specific intent, for connecting with one's animal nature. The shop itself has a specific canine focus, based on the craftsman's personal experience. Craft pieces tend to be made from animal remains and natural history objects and remnants.

Cynanthropy Crafts does not support sport hunters, fur farms or other sources based in the torture or unnatural living of a wild animal, and you will not find the products of such items in my shop. Most of the items presented are secondhand items, cast offs, antique shop finds, or related. I do not wish to create a demand on "cast off" animal remains and put further environmental pressure on a species. All items that are products of animal remains will only be sold as "worked" or "finished" into completed craft pieces, made with intent and with an animistic focus.

The owner of Cynanthropy Crafts does not run this site for profit as its sole intention. Profit destroys species. Just because you did not pull the trigger or set the trap does not mean you are rendered blameless. "Recycled" does not always mean "ethical". Educate yourselves, and know your sources.

This crafter does great work in both a physical and metaphysical sense, and I highly recommend checking the new shop out.

Hi Folks. 'Tis the Season and all that, so I've got a special offer over at The Dreamhart's Hoard. Now, I already sell my products at fairly low prices: the cost of materials plus about $15 an hour for my time, plus shipping (which includes the cost of packaging). So I can't afford to take too much off. But from now until January 1st, if you use the coupon code HAPPYHOLIDAYS, you can get 10% off any purchase from my store. I hope it makes your holidays, whatever they may be, a bit brighter. :)

Don't see anything quite right?  I'm happy to take custom orders, and I'm making more all the time anyway.  Here's a glimpse of one of my personal favorites from the current inventory:

So, I just set three firsts in the past 24 hours: I made my first tree in Sterling Silver, I made my first Etsy sale, and I made my largest (dollar value) sale of a single craft item (as opposed to a group of several items).

I think I'm going to be working in silver more often. ;-)

So vending last night was fun. :) [livejournal.com profile] orthaevelve hit a personal best in the amount she sold. I can't claim to have done as well, though I did do significantly better than the last time I vended at Midnight. I sold two items and made $7 for the evening. A lot of other people expressed interest in my work, but I think the atm being down reduced the number of sales I might otherwise have made. I did get some more pieces done, though, and I had a fun time hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] orthaevelve there. :)

I am also pleased to announce the official opening of my Etsy store, "The Dreamhart's Hoard". I've posted 17 of my items there, including several new ones that have not been posted here on or Flickr previously, and I think that's all I'm going to put up for now. Most of my other items I don't think would necessarily sell through this venue. I may decide to put more up later, and of course if anyone has seen one of my items in my journal or Flickr that is not listed and they are interested in it, just let me know. I'm also selling other items, not listed on my Etsy store, via Sticks and Stones in Fairfax, VA. They're a great place, so definitely try to get out there and take a look.

Obviously, I'll also be working on more pieces as time goes by, and I'm happy to talk with anyone about custom orders.
