*nods* Agreed.... totally agreed. According to the news they were gnawing on windowsills and even eating insulation from the wall in an attempt to survive.... the younger ones were down between 26 and 28 pounds... it's unbelievable that anyone could do this to kids, let alone that they do it right under the nose of the system which is supposed to be protecting these children. I know they're understaffed, underfunded, overworked, and overloaded.... but still, it's hard to believe that something like this could have been overlooked. Maybe I just don't want to believe it's possible, since if it could happen here it could happen anywhere... maybe even a lot more often than we find out about....

...and it is precisely this reason that I think that a lot of people should have their kids taken away and raised by wolves. At least the wolves would make sure the kids were properly fed and such :p

And yes, it's *precisely* because of things like this...things like this, they make me...indescribably pissy. As in making-me-wish-I-could-give-those-kids-fangs-and-claws-and-have-them-eat-those-worthless-fucks-what-consider-themselves-foster-parents pissed.

(And yes...I would consider these kids, and do consider them...in a way, part of my "office", so to speak, as Ferality...goddamnit, I wish I could do more in the physical for this *is in pissy mood, swishing of tail*...)

And people seriously fucking WONDER why I generally consider four-legged and non-name-giver races much more personable...generally wolves and apes and other so-called "animals" don't do this shit to their young...

No the "parents" would probabl give them indigestion. People are disgusting at times.

Gah. Point. :p

At the same time...I'm also sadly not surprised that the kids fell through the cracks w/ Social Services...I've seen too many kids fall through the cracks. Hell, I was one of 'em.

:p

Abuse is a lot more common then anyone finds out about, sadly. It doesn't take very long being involved with the survivor communities to realize that.

It's sad when things fall through the system and go un-noticed, but we've seen it so much that the awfullness is much dulled. What has elements of horror for us: When the abusers use money, power or social position to buy themselves off or otherwise bury the issue.

That happens a lot too. :(
