I was reminded, just now, of something that I read in a book quite recently.

"I'm surprised," the boy said. "My friend bought all the other sheep immediately. He said that he had always dreamed of being a shepherd and that it was a good omen."

"That's the way it always is," said the old man. "It's called the principle of favorability. When you play cards the first time, you are almost sure to win. Beginner's luck."

"Why is that?"

"Because there is a force that wants you to realize your Personal Legend; it whets your appetite with a taste of success."

The text above is from a book that Dusk gave to me at the end of Thresholds... "The Alchemist", by Paulo Coelho. It's a very interesting, thought provoking book. I think a lot of Elenari might enjoy it, as it deals a great deal with a concept that parses to me along the lines of Des'tai. Following your life-path and working with the flows that assist you along that path, rather than against them.

And it's strange... but more and more since I read it, I notice the same sort of coincidences and favorable flows at work in my own life at the present. Things are leading somewhere again... and I'm rather liking the direction that they're going in.

I want to explore this flow. Wish me luck in following it through it's twists and turns, it's calms and it's rapids. I think it'll be worth the ride.
