Everyone seems to do memes these days... I've got a heck of a one for you guys to try. On the surface it's simple... write a poem to answer the question "Who are you?" In practice it's not as simple as it seems, though, since the second rule is that you have to veil your real meaning in imagery, metaphor, and allusion. Here's mine to help get everyone started.
Who am I?
I am one who has worn many faces,
and sung the songs of many a tale.
I am one who has ridden untamed beasts,
and mastered at last their wild ways.
I am one who has healed the wounded children of the sky.
I am one who has taught my teachers,
lecturing them on the use of their tools.
I am one who has guarded mountains of knowledge,
caring for the resting place of dreams and reality.
I am one who held back the tidal wave of change.
I am one who has made plain the secrets of earth and stone,
for three years serving as their bard.
I am one who has walked in step with warriors,
but parted their company when our paths diverted.
I am one who has counted the incalculable.
I am one who guides my household,
though I cannot claim to be it's head.
I am one who is guardian to an infant
whom yet has known more summers than I.
I am one who must change.
I am one who longs for Dreams,
but not for idle fancy.
I am one who stands by his Family,
but measures them not by blood.
I am one who knows Love.

I'm rather curious as to what others would do for a poem like this, and what they would read into the one that I did. :)
