...really, REALLY stinks. I found this out today when my father, in his attempts to defrost our old freezer using a hammer and screwdriver, managed to puncture it and release a cloud of noxious vapor into the house. Lots of fun was had trying to ventilate the area, especially after I quick looked it up online and found out that freon can cause heart problems. Needless to say I made my father go wait outside, since he has a history of heart problems, while I got things ventilated better.
Then I got to go out and buy a new refrigerator for us. By myself. Never really bought a major appliance by myself for, and I kind of always figured that I wouldn't need to until I was living alone, but it went rather smoothly. Only problem is that it won't be arriving until Monday, so for the next few days we'll mostly be eating non-perishable foods. Oh well, I'll deal.
Got us a pretty good buy I think... cheap, no features we don't need, a bit roomier than our last one, and more aesthetically pleasing, and self-defrosting. It also has a seperate freezer compartment, not a freezer compartment within the main compartment like our last one had. So there should be quite a bit more freezer room now. I'm actually looking forward to it, though I wish we'd gotten it under happier circumstances.
On the bright side, at least I know my coolers are definately ready for Thresholds now. ;-)
