Very old drama with the owner of the yahoogroup, who I am very glad to see is not involved with the facebook group by the same name. It's a long story, though. Ever hear anything around the Otherkin community about an organization named variously HOPE, HOPE-CORDE, Kinnecting, MSN Otherkin, or Paranexus? (Among many many other aliases... I archived most of them, if you feel like slogging through my h.o.p.e. tag.)
Nope! I didn't awaken until mid 2001, and I've NEVER been active in any Otherkin-related forums (and only in a couple of email groups), so most of Teh Drama in the larger online community has completely passed me by.
Which I'm not complaining about, mind you. It does mean I tend to get information well after the fact, but oh well. I think I'll read through your tag during downtime at work tomorrow.

I'm not sure how much the tag will help... I mean, if you start with some of the stuff at the bottom and work up it may make some sense, but there's probably a lot of context missing.

I bookmarked some of the various Facebook otherkin stuff you posted the other day, but I'm leery of wading into what seems likely to be a morass of low-quality environment. Maybe I'll be happily disproven, but I dread the idea that if I want to find contact with local Others these days and scare up attendance for gathers, that Facebook is where I'll have to go. It doesn't seem too germane to the sort of thought/feel/spirit/something I'm hoping to foster.

O.o I dunno who this is - the only Adrastai I know off the top of my head are ahril (who I know you have issues with, but this accusation doesn't seem to apply to what I know from talking with her) and elven_ranger.
Well, I don't have a problem with them having been some kind of riding beast (others have said "horse" too - I'm guessing it's just a best fit English word for a similar looking animal) on an Elenari world, but, um.
This is a gem too: "D.J. Conway wrote a book on the Faerie realm that encompasses alot about the Fey. That's the best place to start." OH YE GODS. How many times can I headdesk.
But um, yeah. Witchschool.. you'd have to sift through a lot of chaff from what I know.
Horse? Sure, I don't mind that part... but she keeps using Elenari and Adrastai interchangeably. And elsewhere she refers to herself as an Elenari/Adrastai, even though other places she says she was a horse from the same world.
And yeah, I see what you mean about Witch School. Only found it myself because I was searching for potential otherkin forums. Still debating whether the Witch School ones are even worth adding to the list given their quality.
