I don't mind having the zombie apocalypse dream, in fact it was kind of fricking awesome, but do they have to have catchy folksy/westerny ballads as the soundtrack?

And now you must watch Dead and Breakfast.

Oh, I have. Great movie. :) And probably where my brain got the idea. I know the rest of the story seemed to be a mashup of several of the stories from the anthology "The Living Dead" which I've been reading lately. I'm just trying to figure out why, of all possible tunes, my brain took part of John McCutcheon's "Forgive Us" and turned it into a country-western zombie ballad.

Edit: fixed HTML.

"country-western zombie ballad"...

I wonder what a "country-western zombie ballad" sounds like, or what words would be appropriate for something like that...

C&W Zombie ballad:

Your skull... (I'm talkin' 'bout your noggin)
Sure is some tasty lunchin'
Your braaaaains (aaa aaaagh) (don't let the dog in)
I'm gonna soon be munchin'! (yee haw)
Give us this day our daily BRAIIIIIINNNNS
We'll take no counter-fittin!
or we'll be round to cause y'all PAINNNN
we'll git ya where yore sittin!

Um, or something like that.

In this dream, it was more a ballad for the woman who stayed vigilant when they thought that they had beaten the zombies at least to a point where normal life was possible again, and got the others barricaded inside before they were attacked by a new mutation of whatever was causing the zombie virus (it apparently jumped species and started infecting animals).

Though your version is cool too. :) And if you haven't seen it yet, you should DEFINITELY watch Dead and Breakfast. Awesome awesome zombie comedy. :) With country-western singing and dancing zombies. :)

Oh, and if you haven't heard Jonathan Coulton's "Re: Your Brains" yet, you need to see this:

Also available in French! "Re: Vos Cerveaux"

Somehow that makes it even more horribly wrong. :)
