Western Usui Reiki is one of the simplest healing systems I know. The entire thing can really be learned in a weekend, maybe less. It's based off of a more complex system actually taught by Mikao Usui, which was in turn based off of Ki Kou, the Japanese Qi Gong tradition. But by itself, it's a fairly small and straightforward system. Easy to learn, easy to master.
I find it remarkable, then, that after almost 12 years of working with Western Usui Reiki, as well as other systems from which it descended or which it in turn spawned, I can still find entirely new techniques being utilized that I have never heard of before that do not require the addition of anything external to the system.
That's a beautiful thing.
