So, this week in addition to hosting [livejournal.com profile] kyoudai02, [livejournal.com profile] dogemperor, and [livejournal.com profile] dark_harvest, I decided that (since I had the week off) I would go for one of my certifications. The certification in question: Comptia Linux+. On Monday, I headed to my school to buy a voucher. Two hours later I emerged with my voucher bought and paid for: a single post-it note with a code written on it. I was nervous about that, upset that it took so long, and frustrated because I had wanted to get the test out of the way the same day and couldn't because testing centers require appointments and the testing center I wanted is no longer in existance (ie, Comptia still lists it as a VUE testing center, but PearsonVUE does not).

I ended up scheduling my appointment later in the week, on the PearsonVUE website, at a testing center in Falls Church. That went much smoother than originally buying the voucher did, and the voucher code was accepted as payment in full for the test with no problems. Today, I actually went and took the test.

Yes, [livejournal.com profile] jarandhel is now an officially certified linux geek. I passed. I am now the proud owner of a Comptia Linux+ certification. The actual certificate should arrive in four to six weeks. :)
