Taijutsu rocks. I totally suck at it compared to the others there, but everyone is saying that I'm getting the hang of it really fast. There are also elements of qi gong that are being included that I found very useful to learn, and today we did some weapons training that had we done absolutely nothing else the whole night I would have found beneficial as the main move we learned marries *very* nicely with my natural style of swordplay.

I also found out a very interesting connection with Reiki. Each taijutsu class is opened with the phrase: "SHI-KIN HARA-MITSU DAI-KO-MYO" Those who are familiar with Reiki will see the connection right away. I'm planning to point that out when I give my presentation on Reiki to them this friday. My reiki practice may also be informed by this knowledge as well, since the translation they give for that phrase is as follows:

Here is what Shikin Haramitsu Daikomyo means:

Shikin - A greeting, sensation of harmony, perceived by the heart.

Haramitsu - Wisdom from courage and effort fosters sincerity, loyalty and faithfulness.

Daikomyo - Bring respect and reliance, illumination from the inside to the outside.

Taken together - Every encounter is sacred and could present the one potential key to the perfection of the great universal enlightenment we seek.</blockquote
