Recording my thoughts quickly before bed... probably have already stayed up too late, but I want to get these additional thoughts on nonviolence down before I forget them.

Nonviolence and pacifism have become tangled up together, but they are not necessarily the same thing.

Pacifism is based on the idea that violence is never justified, and relies on many of the principles I have previously attributed to nonviolence, such as honoring the divine within your opponent and not trying to defeat his point of view with your own so much as find the truth within both your points of view to form a greater truth together.

Nonviolence does not necessarily adhere to these tenets, though it may in some cases.

Pacifism is a philosophy. Nonviolence, or more appropriately nonviolent action, is a strategy for actively creating change without resorting to violent means.
