I am shamelessly plugging my housemates' band here on LJ for those in the greater DC area. Shh, they don't know I'm doing this. ;-)

These girls are really cool. They're a lesbian couple, very liberal, also very devout christians though not pushy about their particular religion (and both the power of their faith, and their open-mindedness on matters of faith, show in their music. It's been quite inspiring to see. Check out the lyrics to "Family Values" on their site and you'll see what I mean.)

So, check out their site. There's a schedule of events they'll be performing at on there. (Though probably the one on Thursday is going to be rescheduled, Donna has a cold that is playing havoc with her voice.) Go see them. Tell your friends to go see them. Tell your friends to tell their friends to go see them. I promise they're good, if you're into folk music you'll probably enjoy them a lot. And they're a very cool couple who should be supported, and deserve a bigger fanbase. :)

Besides, I know you guys, and how can you resist going to a place called the "Grog and Tankard"? Arrr.... ;-)

Bucko: A friend.

Bucko -- Familiar term. "Me bucko" = "my friend."

*giggles* And it's not even Talk Like a Pirate Day yet. :)
