So, I've added a links section to my website and I'm doing my best to add every major otherkin resource to it.  Problem is, I don't know every otherkin resource out there.  So, anyone up for helping me make a comprehensive list?

I'd prefer active resources... there are a lot out there that are all but abandoned and haven't seen activity in a very long time.  For message boards, mailing lists, and similar things I'd like there to be at least a decent amount of traffic since January 1st of this year before I list them.  Websites, I'm far less strict on, particularly if there are articles and essays on there that may still be valuable for people to read.  I just note in the description if the site is no longer being updated.

If you want to help, you can either post links in the comments section here or sign up to comment on my site and add the links yourself (though they do have to go through moderation before appearing publicly since anyone can sign up).

Here's what I have so far.  Help me make it better. :)

That said, still having to wade through lots of fluff and weirdness. I think we gotta fix that and write our own stuff (those of us in here who are remotely inclined).

Tenshi says he's going to write on his experiences as angelkin. The antithesis of fluffy, he might end up causing a spike in angelkin suicide rates after writing them.

Actually, I used to comod the angelkin yahoogroup and I'd say about 90% of the otherkin angels are disgruntled warrior-types. The non-warriors tend to end up in the starseed, lightworker, and earthbound angel communities which are further out towards the new-age end of the spectrum.

If you're going include it in a specifically otherkin resource list, though, it might make more sense to link directly to the otherkin area, http://eristic.net/fey/. Those who are interested in the other stuff can always click the appropriate nav links.

I have a bunch of things in my bookmarks but I dunno how good they are for what you're looking for (and I already linked you to the few message boards I'm on on Dreamhart). Do you mind if I just linkdump you and you can go through them at your leisure?

*grins* Figured it was time for a new cataloging type project, since Otherkin.net doesn't seem to be updated much and Pathwayz is gone and the ORC is gone, etc etc. Gets tiresome wading through defunct links all the time to find anything new.

Wow... still a nice list. :) Here are my thoughts and comments:

It looks like otherkin.drinkdeeplyanddream.com redirects now to embracing mystery, which I've linked.

Realmscape forums are down, and the other sections look rather sparse without that. May still end up linking to them, not sure yet.

House Eclipse I'm not linking to until orthaevelve updates it. I told her so on Wednesday and she stuck her tongue out at me. :)

OK Phenomena I've linked to already.

I'm not going to link to Orion's sites while they're down for maintenance, but I have linked to the Draconity Resource Project which hosts an archived copy of the Catalogue. I think I'll also link to his librarything account which hosts the backup copy of the Otherkin Booklist. And once his pages are back up, I will link to them.

Otherkin.net I'm linking to already, not sure I need to specifically link to the wiki section as well.

I'm linking to OtherkinCommunity.net as a forum site. I'm not sure about linking to OtherkinCommunity.org as well, both for the double-publicity that gives them and because of my general skeeviness about the nonprofit aspect.

Moving on to the Elves, Sidhe and such links:

I probably should link to kinhost.org. I've been hesitating (other than for linking to the FAQs) because nearly every time I follow links there these days the redirects seem broken from the old layout to the new one, but when I actually go in by the front door or from links to pages made in the new layout originally it looks like it's working fine.

K'Llayna's Elenari dictionary: good call. It's too bad she doesn't have a full site anymore to include...

The Hidden Realm is one I haven't seen before or at least don't recall, I'm going to have to take a closer look at it when I'm more awake.

Adrastai.com - this one, I can't link to or endorse in any way. I'm very much not a fan of either the content or the author.

Raven Kaldera's site - hmm... not sure, that's a fairly brief mention of Otherkin but it may be useful to some people.

Elven Portal is another that I'm not familiar with and will need to look at when I'm more awake.

Silver Elves... frankly they annoy the crap out of me, but you're right they should be included.

elvenawakening - need to be more awake again.

Groves of Annwyn - I'm very hesitant to add anything associated with the Fra'kar stuff. I seem to recall the author associated with that being rather completely nuts. What stuff in it did you find useful? There may be other sites that have the good stuff without the side order of crazy with extra crazy sauce.

Shadow of the Fallen - I reflexively wince every time I see the word Grigori associated with the word Otherkin these days, but I'll take a closer look when I'm more awake. The only words that make me wince more are Nephilim and Annunaki.

Neither am I, and I ended up her comod. We took over when Ash (headmate to Arhuaine and Cas) stopped modding it. I'm not even sure if Dev's still moderating the list or if it's passed into new hands since then.

I dunno about Annunaki, but Nephilim and Grigori seem like reasonable words, especially when connected to angelic 'kin, but also I've sometimes pondered whether there could be a connection between Nephilim and Earth elves or faery or sidhe.

LOL. Yeah, sometimes I have a hard time with the latest Magical Elven Love Letters, but I think they're certainly part of the whole phenomenon, for historical reasons if nothing else. Their mention in Drawing Down the Moon is one of the root-threads I can trace back before my own awakening, though, so they have a kind of special place in my own history. (I wish I knew what I did with the few mimeographed-looking paper Letters I got from them back in the 90s. Probably threw them out, which was dumb, especially now that I have a growing interest in archiving sites and things before they disappear just for history's sake.)

No kidding. ^_- What I find useful is mostly just cherry-picked details in a few sentences - probably better to leave them out of a resource list.

There may be other sites that have the good stuff without the side order of crazy with extra crazy sauce.

Unfortunately, no, not that I've found, which is one reason I want to build up more faery and sidhe stuff on my own site. It's perhaps surprising how little otherkin-faery (as opposed to collections of folklore) stuff there is out there, and otherkin-sidhe especially seems to be a rare breed (again, as aside from folklore mentions, often tangled up with Irish/Tuatha lore).

They can be, sure, I've just seen far too many instances of People going the Anglo-israelism route with it. The whole TdD == Lost Tribe of Dan and "Dragon Bloodline" thing.

Well, now, I do think there's a possibility of an otherworldly strain in some human bloodlines and that you could, if you liked, call this "Elven" or "Dragon" or "Royal" or whateer, but then De Vere elevates it practically to conspiracy theory. I find some interesting ideas there but find it hard to take his tone.

Oooh, actually I just found out: devcandy is NOT the mod of angelkin anymore. May actually be worth checking out again. One of the current mods is decent, one is an idiot but not one I particularly give a rats ass about, and one I don't know. Unfortunately the idiot is listed as list owner at present. *shrugs* Still, it's been years since I've seen her online and maybe she's bought a clue by now.

Cool, I'm glad people are finding it useful. :) I'm still working on expanding it further. I've even poked some webmasters/community mods I know about trying to get their sites and forums active again. :)

The conspiracy theory aspect is definitely part of the problem I have with it, coupled with his EXTREMELY bad historical research. If you're going to claim a historical basis for otherkin genetics, you need to actually be able to support it with real history. De Vere's "scholarship" leaves much to be desired in that regard.

Honestly, the whole "certain bloodlines" thing still just feels wrong to me. Apart from the difficulty in sustaining a distinct bloodline over that time scale, it really feels like there's a racist element to it that's been brought straight out of Blavatsky's theosophy and the 19th century.
