GAH! If I thought it would actually do any good, and not perpetuate this crap, I'd chime in to explain to this idiot that one does not "register" a nation the way one registers a religion. It's not a checkbox on the IRS form. Hmm, which should we be? "Nonprofit... nah... religious group... nah... oh, here it is, NATION, 501n7..."

But I'm personally of the opinion that nobody could possibly be that stupid unintentionally. So I'm just going to hold my peace over there.

That's one reason I'm keeping silent--I've tried in past to offer clue, this has been only partially successful, and at this point, if he wants to try it and meet with much FAIL, that's his business. :P

(And people wonder why I tend to *lurk* nowadays on communities :P)

I wonder if he realizes how much money you need to run a nation. Even the smallest of countries has an operating budget in the millions if not billions. Ironic he gave no response when I mentioned there was one "nation" that had UN representation without having a physical country -- the Romanys. I think you're right that he's just perpetuating blind stupidity for the sake of doing so.

I guarantee the next step will be the suggestion of this:

This is following the same path as Adara's "Imperial Court of Light"/"Hanian" stuff. All that's missing so far is the BDSM.

I'm convinced that nobody could be this stupid unintentionally. Too many factors melded together, including the fact that I've already specifically raised the argument against nationhood a while back in this thread, as well as the fact that Hawwah's language skills seem remarkably improved when I talk to her on IM compared to what they are in email, when in a real foreign speaker it should work the other way around.
