You know, when the new Smallville show came on I didn't like it too much, because the original superman canon has been changed almost completely to accomodate Clark and Lex being friends. Even the reason for Lex loosing his hair has changed utterly, leaving him without a real reason to hate superman and blame him for the loss. So it's hard to see him eventually becoming the Lex Luthor of comic book fame, the brilliant supervillian who is Superman's nemisis.
... but now, I have to say, I'm not minding the friendship so much. Especially when the slash Smallville fanfic that pairs Lex and Clark is so yummy. :)
