Yeah, so, for reasons unknown to me I bought two books this weekend: Odin's Gateways by Katie Gerrard and Taking Up the Runes by Diana L. Paxson.
I'm not a follower of the Norse tradition, nor a devotee of any Norse deities (though am on somewhat friendly terms with two or three, and have generally positive feelings towards a further handful). I also don't tend to work with the runes much, though over the years I have picked up a few things connected with the Runes: Futhark, a handbook of Rune Magic by Edred Thorsson, The Rune Vision Cards by Sylvia Gainsford with Howard Rodway, the Rune Oracle by Helene Saltarini, and a handful of handwritten notes made while attending two workshops on the Runes by Silvaerina Tael at various Walking the Thresholds.
Not sure where this is going or what is going to come from it.
