Korean Humor

I'm by no means an expert on korean cinema, but I've watched more than a few korean movies now and I think I'm starting to discern a particular style of humor.  I can't quite describe it, in some ways it's almost slapstick and in other ways it's very tongue-in-cheek and sarcastic.  It's almost a dark humor, but there's an element of playfulness and hope too.  Laughing at Death and Life and at oneself.  Difficult to explain.  I think I like it.

Presently watching the movie Arahan which seems to have elements of the same form of comedy.  Enjoying it very very much. :)
