I'm nowhere near FQF, but I feel like I just had my first camping-related accident. Logically, I know it's not. It was a kitchen accident. I burned my hand a bit on the oven. No big deal. Only thing is, I had just gotten back from food shopping for CtT, and I probably would not have been using the oven except I picked up something quick for dinner (three-cheese pizza) at Trader Joes while I was there. Ah wel, no big deal, I burned myself much worse at WtT and that healed nicely.

I am going somewhat more cooking-intensive this trip, even though logically there is much less chance of needing food than there was at WtT given the number of attendees. Don't ask me, I'm just going with what feels right. It's not going to be all instant meals like it was at WtT. Some of what I'm bringing I should actually probably have my head examined for... but I think it will turn out well. Just a feeling. Worst case scenario, I commandeer the kitchen for a bit... mwahahahahah! :) As always, anyone who wants to join me for dinner is welcome. I'm not bringing much that I know people are allergic to, and I can work around allergies for meal-sharing. I will even be bringing some spices, so it's not gonna be bland crap. :)

Anyway, back to dinner. See y'all soon. :)

http://aprilbd.newsvine.com/_news/2007/09/11/955435-scaring-children-about-911#c1015940 <- This comment thread is so fucking stupid...

I might not agree with the idea of sheltering kids from the reality of 9-11 (I think if they're old enough to be taught any history, they're old enough to be taught accurate modern history of things that happened in their lifetime and are affecting the world around them.) But I at least see that as a valid concern and something that should be discussed. The idea that teaching history should never involve "moral judgements" like saying the 9-11 hijackers were "bad men"? That's just stupid.

Ahhh, so *that's* why more food this time. Gotcha. :)

Always listen to the universe. Except when it starts giggling, then run.

This only rated a chuckle. ;-)
