So, it appears that sometime after I last played Ansalon extensively, there was a split in the immortals. My favorite immortal went off and formed her own version of Ansalon, along with a few others. The Ansalon they've made seems both more complicated (character customization is so different it took me a while to figure out HOW to customize a character) and yet also more true to the spirit of the original. Yet some areas are completely different from anything I recall, even more so than on the other MUD. I'm still trying to decide if I like it or not.
Interestingly, both halves of the split refer to themselves as the oldest dragonlance mud around, and take the attitude that they are the true successor of the original. I'm putting my money on the one run by Chislev, though. Much more work on atmosphere and RP has been done on it, and the coding development is very VERY extensive. With more changes apparently being added all the time, while the other MUD seemed to be slacking off on that.
At some point I'm going to go back and give Discworld another try too, but I don't really get as much out of that having never read the Discworld books myself.
