I am the breath on the ocean,
I am the wave of the sea,
I am the breaker's roar.
I am the bull of many battles,
I am the hawk upon the cliff,
I am a tear of sunlight.
I am the fairest of blossoms,
I am the wild boar in boldness,
I am the salmon of the depths.
I am the water upon the land,
I am the word well-used,
I am the spear-point in battle,
I am the God who sets the calm mind aflame.
Who smoothes the rugged mountains?
Who announces the ages of the Moon?
Who tells the place of the sun's rest?
Who seeks peace without fear?
Who names the waterfalls?
Who bears cattle from the house of Tethra?
What person, what god
Forms weapons in a fort?
In a fort of inspiration,
Chants a petition, divides the letters,
Separates a fleet, has sung praises?
A wise satirist.
Who but I?
