Reflections

Today, I read the journals of some people I have excluded from my life, for a variety of reasons.

Suddenly, I was struck by the similarity of their personalities, words, and lifestyles... despite them being very different individuals superficially. One is a goth. Another is an anime fangirl. The third... I'm not sure how to succinctly describe, but she's not either of those at any rate.

All three claim to know more of darkness than they really do. They see it like a badge of honor, a claim to status and experience and respect.

In the end, all three proved themselves to be people who use other people... who have little use for friends or lovers in their lives if they can't exploit them in some way. Control them.

I am looking now, and seeing the many levels of similarities which were not apparent before.

It is an informative study.
