I saw three hawks yesterday between Arlington and Harrisonburg. Dusk and I headed up there for a Virginia Young Democrats meeting, and I hung out at the local Starbucks and caught up a bit on some reading and some projects I'm working on.
Not sure what kind of hawks they were... they were a bit smaller than red-tails, but I was driving Dusk's truck for the first time on the highway, and didn't get as good a look as I might have liked. Very beautiful creatures, though, and I'm grateful for them entering my life. I had a hunch recently that they might be, and I've been keeping an eye out for them.
Ka `io nui maka lana au moku, the great hawk with eyes that see everywhere on the land.
