Well, I'm packing kitchen supplies for the apartment next year. Going through all of my grandmother's old cookware and finding the stuff that is still usable, and getting it packed away. Definitely have found a couple of surprises in the course of this.
For instance, a cooker/deep fryer. Fresh french fries and good fried chicken sandwiches are looking a distinct possibility for next year, though unfortunately I haven't really had time to test it yet. Apparently if filled with water rather than oil it can also be used to make spaghetti and other dishes.
Also, the deli-style meat slicers. One manual, one electric. The manual one got tossed. I tested the electric one, and it is working still, so we'll have fresh cold-cuts and cheeses and such next year. It can also apparently be used to slice vegetables and fruits and such.
These are things I've never really considered having in a kitchen of my own, but I really think that I am going to enjoy them and the convenience they bring to aspects of cooking meals for myself, Dusk, and even our roommates if/when we share meals together. :)
