It struck me today how divorced from Nature man has truly become. We speak of sunny days as good, and cloudy rainy ones as bad, as if the clouds have the power to hide the presence of the Sun in our lives. But how can that be when the energy of the Sun surrounds us always? I can see it in the green growing things, watch it nurture them further with the gentle rains of Spring... I can feel it in the warmth of the land beneath me, sense it in the living earth. It exists in the wind and the waves as well. Even at night it is seen in the mirror of the moon, heard in the sounds made by living creatures, felt in the breeze which comes in off the ocean. The sun surrounds us, always... have we forgotten that?

Btw, on a related note: Generalist... Renaissance Man... Samildánach. I'm getting it now.

Edited 8:12pm - And, lest I forget it myself... the sun is within us as well.
